Finding Great Job in COVID19 Downturn



As Secretary-General with Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on a daily basis, I am receiving phone calls and meeting many peoples from different backgrounds according to their skills and expertise in different industries. Federal and Provincial Governments announced their budget and the present slowdown economy affected the National GDP and economy very badly. According to the publicly announced budget and data from the Planning Commission of Pakistan and the Ministry of Commerce the reported growth rate in the industrial manufacturing sector 0.3. That is too much panic and the mentioned statistics badly affected the national growth. The impact on the services sector is too much high and almost many people, ex-colleagues, friends and family members in social circle lost their jobs or in some cases, they were not paid by their employer since last two months in many cases employer deducted the huge portion from the percentage of their salaries.

We all are observing the same conditions or facing it. Unemployment rates have been spiked around the world since February 2020 due to the pandemic condition of Corona Virus and lockdowns. According to the mainstream media news and social media sources, tens of millions are out of work. The World Trade Organization WTO and International Monetary Fund –IMF predicted the worst collapse in international commerce and that takes a long time in full recovery.

In this situation, it has been decided to write some helping blogs for Job Seekers. This will definitely work out and helps them find a great job in the COVID19 downturn situation. We need to be more focused and determine in this situation. Your social circle can help you with it. You make it possible through creating a contact list.

 

Contact List Creation:

Yes; I am talking about your own social circle i.e your ex-colleagues, business school, college and university teachers, professors, scholars, alumni’s, department and ex-department colleagues, friends, their friends, family relatives and those you have you meet professionally and non –professionally once, twice, or many times in your lives.

In present circumstances the risk factor is high and we need to find a great job, and through the creation of the contact list in spreadsheets. That is an easy and workable approach.

They will help you to direct to some good employers and industries. You can fix a meeting with them and after some days you will observe that through this contact creation many departments give the interviewing opportunity to you.

Recruitment Process:

As you receive, an e-Mail or a phone call for an interview, you need to be well prepared for it. Open your laptop or workstation and do some training to recall your professional expertise and skills or join some professional training institute for a short period of time and acquire some practical training. That will helps you in interviews, have practical answers to practical questions from the interview HR Panels.

You need to do more work out on your communication and interpersonal skills, IQ, and EQ skillset. If you are more efficient in post-interview follow up you can easily convince the HR about it, you the right choice at this time and you can facilitate them in their business requirements and needs. At this time there’s a progressive approach require, so not to be shy in it ask them, and convince them in any way.

Policy of Making New Contacts:

That’s will also help you in making of new contacts and asking them to refer to the new industries, departments and business firms to find some work for you.

We just can believe, that how much the people are helpful? They will help out you beyond your expectations and you will adjust in a few days on the same or different roles with some department, business firm, or industry.

Finalizing the Offers:

We know you did your complete efforts, to convince your new employers and their HR teams about your skills and abilities to grab their offered opportunities and you are very good in your interpersonal and communication skills.

Now it’s your turn, to search more data about these industries and business firms who are in contact with you and asking about expected Salary, or doing some deep serious discussion about their offered facilities to their workers.

At this stage, you need to be more practical and confident to make the right choice. If you take some wrong steps you will be responsible for all the outcomes, keep your optimistic thinking away, and take it on a realistic approach but with confidence. Your long run stay approach will help you in finalizing the deals.

Sealing the Deals:

As much you can get data about the past, present, and future about these business firms and industries that will make you able to seal the deal. Your confidence, realistic and somehow the optimistic, but long-run approach helps you to seal the deal with your new employers.

After achieving the great job finding, you need to say thanks to all those people who pick your phone call, answer your messages and e-Mails or help out you in your job searching activity.

Everyone needs help in this dramatic economic and pandemic condition of Coronavirus. Yes, that is a deep assessment of our social relationships, and it’s a geopolitical crisis, it will take almost a decade till 2030 and we are going through has only started. We can expect it will be deep, long, and far-reaching.

That allows us to strengthen our social relationship and helping each other to find some work and to adjust them according to their skills to aid them in pandemic circumstances of COVID19.We can say that it’s a beautiful opportunity to help the unemployed and to make your social circle more strong and strengthen the relationships with others.
